Over time there has been much confusion about considered one of Belle Isle's many institutions: the Casino. this is not a gambling casino, but alternatively uses the existing sense of the word, an area "public entertainments." This Casino has been used for this function since the original structure was internal the 1880s, serving as a gathering spot for Detroiters for generations.
The first building to get called the Casino was built in 1887, as Belle Isle was being changed into a municipal park. It was constructed to carry events, bazaars, and things of that nature, which its successor was more info designed to do too. The original building burnt down during the early 1900s.
The original building was replaced in 1907 which has a building designed by the firm of Van Leyen and Schilling. This building has continued to serve its function successfully for more than 10 years now, and its particular future seems to get secure well in the future, regardless of the problems that Belle Isle has received in recent years.
